Smallish restaurant, but there were plenty of tables available. The staff is bilingual which is a plus. I had quesabirria and it was delicious!!! The salsa also had so much more flavor than any other restaurant. I will definitely be stopping by next time I'm in town
The food was so good! The salsas were flavorful, but spicy! The birria meat was yummy! Loved our meal! We would eat here again.
Excellent food and service. We ordered chicken tostadas, chicken burrito with enchilada (smothered in both red and green sauces) and chicken fajitas. The chicken fajitas were very tasty. Whatever they do to the onions and peppers is amazing. Chicken Tostadas were delicious. The tortilla stayed crunchy. My husband preferred the green sauce on his burrito to the red but I liked the red better. Their horchata is fantastic. Not too sweet and perfect cinnamon flavor. The chips come with two salsas. A green creamy spicy salsa and a tomato based salsa with chopped avocado pieces. Very good. They have a kids menu with typical "kid safe" foods. We didn't order off this menu so I can't say how that food tastes. We came on a Friday for lunch (2 adults, 3 kids). The restaurant was quite busy with a mix of tourists and locals. I highly recommend this place!
This place is amazing! A true local eatery that has friendly service and wonderful authentic food. The tacos were the best I've ever had. They had tender flavorful meat, gooey Mexican cheese, finely diced fresh onion and a cup of the roasting juices to dip your taco in. I sure wish I had a place like this where I live!!
A place with authentic homey Mexican food. As someone who is just passing by/out of state, I will go out of my way to come back and have this food on the way home. Nice people, great food that feels my grandmas cooking.
Visiting from out of state and read reviews for this place and gave it a shot. Delicious! Great service and food. Tried the Birria Tacos and OMG- amazing! Very casual place with a locals vibe. But definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Do not judge a book by its cover applies here. The exterior may not draw you in however the interior is quaint with a Spanish flair. Bright colors and decorations. The service is so fast and everyone was friendly. The food is the real star of the show. Best salsa I have ever had!! Husband had the birria tacos and they were amazing! I had the Gordita, the chicken was delicious, wish I would have gotten another one. The beef one was dry and very bland would not recommend it. This place is definitely worth a try!!
This was worth the drive off of Main Street through town. The food was great, hot, but great. We both order green chicken enchiladas. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and authentically decorated.
Came to Carlsbad to visit a family member. Seen this spot on GPS Food. Decided hey why not! 3 things I loved about this place. 1: The Service is amazing! Our waitress was very attentive, helpful and got us our food and drinks right away! 2: the Ambiance is super cute! It's a tight spot but that's what makes the environment so chic! Very much a homey type of place! 3: I ordered Barbacoa tacos and Chile cheese fries. I didn't get to take pictures of my Chile cheese fries because well. Yeah they were great! Tamales were a little on the drought side but have potential to MY own taste buds. Over all me and my family will be coming back to eat at this spot in the future! 9/10
